Apparently I have deeply hurt the feelings of Rich by posting the one word "might" with a question mark.

I never intended to hurt you Rich. I had no idea how personally you would take that one word.

I did not read Cowboy's link to the "DAILY MIRROR" echoing Rich's information. Rich himself would not reveal his source. When I went to the Daily Mirror to read the informative article I also found an article about a psychic woman who has spoken with Cecil personally since he was shot and Cecil is taking the high road and not holding a grudge.

Again Rich, My heartfelt apologies. No need to ever send me a PM again.

Cheers
Jim

Frostbit,

a simple wait, one day, to see what turned out would have sufficed. Or, now, an "I guess you were right..."

You did not hurt my feelings at all, you would have had to be a friend to do that.

I guess we are different, I would have PM'ed you first instead of making the choice you did.

Since I have friends in Zim, I asked one the day the story broke. He told me to wait a day or two, that the story was NOT what was initially reported. He also asked me not to reveal his name at that time, since he and his family live there still, and one never knows what those people might do.

If I were to assess the entire thread, I would have to say I was right, and you were premature in your criticism...

Rich

PS: you just have to make one or two clicks to place me on ignore, or to not allow me to send you PMs.

It has long been a practice by outfitters in Alberta and B.C. to bugle bull Elk out of Banff and Jasper parks, it is perfectly legal and ethical. So why isn't this in the same light. If they poached it because of no permit, wrong, go the full extent of the law. If the animal was outwitted by fair chase(baiting as it is done in Zimbabwe)then so be it.
it is the internet and the media together killing us off with BS. Any of us they can, be sure of that

just keep reading the papers, as the story unfolds...

The issue that led to the entire uproar was the client screwing the pooch! I would opine that, had he used something like my 404 Jefferys and killed the lion DOI we would never have heard of it.

Safari areas were placed adjacent NPs in Zim for several reasons. Here are a few:

1. To provide quality hunting areas and to maximize the monetary return of sport hunting to NPs

2. To help cull some of the excess animals from the parks and thereby reduce the amount of culling needed to be done by park personnel.

3. To reduce depredation complaints by adjacent private land owners.

There are probably others that I haven't thought of.

Piss on you all naysayers, everyone one of us is guilty of some so called unethical move in the eyes of other hunters.

I am with you on this boarkiller.
Let the courts not the internet judge this. I just hope it is a fair court.

The problem is not his choice of weapon. It appears to me the problem was harvesting a lion that people humanized by giving IT a name.

Our court system in America(who knows on Zimbabwe's) is based on the concept of innocent until proven guilty.

Not many here are following that concept.
