He knows, I talked to him by e-mail yesterday. Many people received these.

This is not a new scam. Only the name has changed. I have seen it before with other names.

My alert level went up a touch when Craig Boddington was reaching out to me from the Philippines needing money. I didn't inquire, but I'm sure a wire to his aunt in Nigeria would have quickly resolved the situation.

May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Use my address Cal. The young Lad is either always at work or working on his new house and not answering the door.

I'll be sure to see he gets it.

Cheers

Craig has said publicly that he is now giving up on AOL. I wrote him to the effect that only geriatrics still use AOL and that it was time to have a 14-year-old set up a domain name complete with its own email address, SSL, etc. Jeez.

Larry,

The way I understand it is that scammers have web crawlers, which extract email addresses from around the web.

They then combine these addresses, and send scams to them.

So if you are on the Internet, and have an email address, you are likely to get scammed one way or another.

I follow a very simple procedure on email.

First I check the sender, then I check the subject.

If neither is relevant to me, they get deleted without being read.

Those I read have to make sense, if not, I just ignore them.

If an email has nothing in the subject, it gets deleted, no matter who it came from.
