Subject: Shipment to lifeform

Please be advised that we are holding all shipments from Mozambique that have Cites trophies with tags attached. ie. Crocodile and leopard.

The reason being is that USF & W have seized a couple of leopards imported from Mozambique, stating that the Mozambique Cites tags do not meet with their regulations. One of the leopards has since been released.

Mozambique have never had any problems before exporting these cites animals and comply to the requirements set out by Cites Head office in Geneva.

The Mozambique authorities are now trying to get clarification from USF & W and Geneva Head office on the Cites Tags.

Once this problem has been resolved we will continue with your shipment.

Thank you
leeann

USF&WS leadership doesn't like hunting generally and seem to dislike trophy hunting the most and are hell-bent to discourage it in every way they can.

Fortunately, the rank and file USF&WS worker bee is, in general, opposed to the unfairness the ideological zealots at the top practice as their stock and trade. So, where they can, they try to be helpful.

Good luck with your problem -- I had success in importing a Moz Leopard a year or so ago, so it can be done -- but it does take patience. Just be careful that your trophy doesn't arrive in the US while the USF&WS is still trying to make an example out of Mozambique. Wait until the dust settles and they move on to punishing somebody else.
