A couple of years ago I killed a Black Mamba that had killed some of my PH's cows but I didn't take the skin. I was just thinking that it would have made an interesting belt or hat band.

Just wondering if anyone else has done anything with snake skin and if you had any trouble importing it.

namibiahunter, we killed a big puff adder in April in the Kalahari, and tried to export it as a curio with my clients other trophies (incl a leopard, CITES 1). They would not allow it. If you apply for a trophy hunting permit of a specific snake beforehand, there should be no problem.

I've made many belts and hat bands but never from any African snakes. Puffy would look cool on my hat Karl. Wish I had a few. Would I be Puff Daddy...lol. I need a rattlesnake skin namibiahunter, got any?
Cheers,
David

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
