Just curious if any of you have hunted with
or have any personal knowledge about either
of these safari companies. They are both
located in South Africa. Any information you
might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jim

Jim,

Welcome to AR.

You might wish to do a search on Tam safaris before you decided to hunt with them.

Jim,
I cannot speak to Intrepid but I have a friend that hunted with Tam at the same time I took my family to hunt with the Rudman’s.
It was a plains game hunt and he said they were professional and he enjoyed the experience. He did say that he was offered a lioness hunt but did not take it as he did not like their lion set up (put and take only).
He would have no reservations about the plains game hunt but could not in good conscience recommend a lion hunt unless the hunter fully understood what he was buying.
BTW, where in Katy are you?

Several television personalities have killed their CANNED lions with Tamm. I am sure you will do very well.

Scott Haugen shot the third Big male he saw on the FIRST morning of his hunt with Tamm. HMMM lets see, THREE males before lunch, first day?

Olivia whats her face killed one on a stock that the poor guy just wasn't up to looking at them of bothering to rise in the face of DANGER.

Man, be careful. You will be successful, I will bet on it.

But don't talk about it here or you will be roasted.

if you are looking for a canned lion hunt, Tam is probably the best there is. just ask the big shot celebrities who "hunted" there. have no info on Intrepid.

Hi Jim
If you are interested in Lion but want to hunt in SA you can still get actual free range lions.

I cant confirm what quota is available or when but if you are not wanting a captive lion there are options within SA.

Otherwise, hop over the border and hunt in Zim, plenty of great guys there.
I highly recommend leopard over hounds if you are interested in the most exciting cat hunting you can do anywhere.
Good luck
Ian

Ian,

I for one would love to hear how one can get a free range lion in South Africa, so would you please post the details for us?

You are right of course, as all the evidence is shown on youtube.
But, they are NOT doping anything illegal.

Captive lion hunting in South Africa is a regulated part of the sport.

Personally, I would not even dream of "hunting" a lion in South Africa. But I have no problem for those who wish to do so to go ahead and do it.

But, be frank about it, and do NOT claim it was a free range lion.

That old excuse "we have just heard that a lion is terrorising the neighbourhood, would you like to shoot it?" has run out of steam now.

Hi Saeed
Limited number of tags in the Timbavati/Klaserie area.
They also have Buff and Elephant on the same system. It is open to Kruger, to some that may not meet their idea of free range but its good enough for me.

I am hunting an Elephant there in March.

There are also some good areas right up in the north against Botswana but they are very remote and not everyone wants to go up there.
Lion I dont know about up there against Bots as I have not hunted there myself, but Elephant and Buff are good.

As has been said, each to their own in terms of what you want to hunt. But call it what it is.

If you are looking for a plains game hunt in RSA look at www.blaauwkrantz.com

The Rudman's are as good as it gets. I would go back in the blink of an eye.
