Here's a good excerpt: "Hunting, especially in Central and West Africa, is much more serious than we imagined," says Russell Mittermeier, president of Conservation International. "It's huge," with the result that hunting now constitutes the pre-eminent threat to some species.But recent years have brought a more dangerous kind of hunter, and not only because they use AK-47s and even land mines to hunt. What? You don't hunt with land mines? Didn't you get instruction in your NRA-approved Hunter Safety Course on safely deploying land mines (never point a loaded land mine at anything you do not intend to blow up). Here in Texas we're even considering a special anterless "land mine only" early deer season. Why, hunting with land mines is one of the oldest and noblest pursuits of dedicated hunters. | |||

Arlid, Soccer moms is term to describe upper middle class house wifes who have nothing better to do than drive their spoiled kids around to soccer practice and try and impress each other with feel good politics. As a group they are ignorant, ditsy, shallow people who have spent time at the titty fairy and try and impress each other with new running suits and designer shoes. | |||

I already e-mailed them, strongly noting that poachers, not hunters committed this atrocity........And I have Mittermeier's phone number, ready to call first thing Monday morning, and talk real loud to him................Get those e-mails and phone calls going!!!!! Actually saw it first in the current issue of newsweek. I'd send you the copy but i puked all over it. If you read the comments under the MSN/MSNBC story, verbatim by the way to newsweek, the scum outweigh the thoughtfuls by a wide margin. Oh, and I kinda like the bouncing betty.
