You should see a penned-up/caged hyrax that has been caught for live transport...they go ballistic!!! Man, they don't seem it, but when they get pissed its pretty impressive!

That baboon knows what I know: 1. They can bit very sore. And very quickly bite again, and again! 2. They don't taste well at all.

The combination of 1 and 2 means that, even if you can grab it and kill it, it is best to just retreat!

The courage of the hyrax astounds me though!

Tkanks for sharing a most enjoyable clip.

Well, it is just little elephants with a chip on its shoulder, so maybe not so surprising. I think he is just bluff charging that baboon.

Obviously a DGR is required to hunt them...

My PH on my recent hunt used my .223 to drop 3 rock rabbits in quick succession. One of our trackers high tailed to pick them up, only returning with one. Seems the other 2 had fallen down into deep cracks in the rocks. He was very happy to retrieve one however, saying it would be eaten that night. Hmmm, they look like excellent candidates for fine ear muffs to me jumping

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
