I'll still never listen to the Dixie Chicks and I used to like their music.

Well i don't think the hunting public/fratenity really asked to know,
but Crapstick felt compelled to tell the world about Taylors sexuality anyway.
readers then either take it or leave it from there.

Same thing about how much hard liquor Ruark consumed on safari,
He decided to tell his readers himself, I guess to help spice up his publication?,
or he's just telling-sharing candidly with his avid readers how he really led his lifestyle.

I have never heard of a bum bandit, I usually say: "limp wristed donut puncher" or use the British word "Poofter".

Using bum bandit instead would save me a lot of time.

My cousin is a Poofter of the highest regard, he calls us breeders. Everything he does gives me the heebie jeebies. But honestly as long as I don't have to hear the details I don't care.

In Anchorage there was a measureably large number of dykes. Not the kind you'd romp, but the kind that could build you a kitchen table or install sheet rock. They never bothered me but I never figured out how to joke with them. They are damn difficult to work out, especially the old crusty ones that really hate men. I think every 5th teacher in the Anchorage school district must be a dyke.

I don't know about you guys, I don't care if you sleep wit Liz or Lance. Just leave me the hell alone to do what I want to do.

Some Ruark readers don't want to believe that., calling BS on it when I posted the fact a couple yrs ago.

Pretty obvious Rourke was an alcoholic and died quite young because of it. The fact Taylor was queer doesn't really matter except it is a somewhat dark little secret apparently not uncommon at the time (or any time it seems). What I find interesting is that because of the politics and social conventions of the times Taylor was (haven't determined it all yet) imprisoned, expelled from his beloved Africa, shunned, and instead of living a long happy rich life as one of the greatest African Hunting writers (and hunters) he dies a pauper in shame. This in itself is a compelling story to me anyway. One I find rather fascinating
