sevenmagltd.Elephant leather
Does anyone know if it's legal to bring back (into the U.S.) tanned elephant leather hides from Zim? The elephant was not shot on a sport hunt but from culled elephants. I need some leather for a project and I have a source, just don't know if I can get it in the country.
Thanks

LionHunterI don't know specifically, but I would guess that if you can import it you will have to pay custom's duty on the total value. Could be expensive.

If it's not on the exportable quota, then I don't believe it is legal to bring into the US. Occasionally guys use tuskless on exportable quota, but not very often. I would think this is not legal, but may want to contact Mike Carpender at the USFWS just to be on the safe side.
