My wife and I recently returned from our first visit to South Africa. Both of us being wildlife artists, this trip took on more meaning and value than words can say. We were scheduled to meet some business associates and actually skin and study as many species as possible in 15 day's.

The business quickly turned to pleasure on many levels and we both harvested our first ever African Trophies. The picture of mounted Kudu's is a project that we just finished in the shop, and I feel it is a very fitting mount for our first ever trip and trophies from Africa. What do you think...

Beautiful mount of two really nice Kudu.

When I first saw the title to this thread, my first thought, was of the line Dolly Pardon said in the movie, "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas".

She was talking to the state Senator, played by Robert Mandan, and the words or most of them were, "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You Charlie".

Sorry for that OT run, Thanks for the story and pictures.

Our trophies will soon land in the States and my wife and I will certainly be excited to preserve the memories with great taxidermy work. One thing that we have also started to develop in the studio is a line of custom furniture to accent the African portion of our Trophy display. These African trophies will be the first in our home and I wanted something special to go along with them to separate them from our North American Trophies. This coffee table will be a nice start and it's the first of it's kind as we develop a full line of this type of furniture. What do you think??? DAN

That's a nice piece Dan, symbolically as well for a memory you share with your wife. Some guys might be tempted to mount each trophy separately, depending on what might happen with the relationship down the line. Nice work.

Dan, good job on getting the horns the correct color, they stand out as premium pieces of art IMHO. What a difference that makes. Congrats to both of you again on your successful hunt, and best wishes for many more. Sorry I did not get to meet you at Dallas, but next year for sure. Have a great show in Reno, David

Dan,
First...your wife is out of your league! 2nd..That might be the best kudu taxidermy I have ever seen. I will say I have seen your whitetails as well, and there is no one any better. You really have a gift...many could learn from you. I will be having you do my stuff personally! I hope to return from Namibia with a pair of Kudus just for this mount..
