This was taken in Namibia after our hunt with Karl. We hunted with Danie Strauss @ Kowas Adventures.
I believe it was 6 1/2 inches.

What a stud! That's one for a lifetime right there. I love the steenbok and can only dream of what it would be like to see one like that in person.

I wish you could see it enlarged.
This new hotmail format is all screwed up and when I received the pictures it is down sized.
We had a camera and computer snafu when we where there hope to get a disc soon.

It is the real thing waiting to hear back from Namibia on the ranking. I was told probably in the top 5.
Yes it will be a life size. I also had special permission from the ministry to shoot a female also I will have a great life size display.
Thanks for all your comments.

"Big Steenbok." I thought that something of an oxymoron. But I gotta admit that's the most impressive "little guy" that I've seen. I'm not a big pursuer of them, having only taken a Sharpes Grysbok in Zim, but I would have certainly painted the crosshairs on that Steenbok.

I've heard they're good eatin'. Is that the case?

Wow- I killed a nice one at Kowas also, but it "only" went around 5 to 5 1/2". Danie has a nice operation. I really enjoyed hunting with Mattheus and Immanuel and would love to hunt with Jacques in the future.

With Larry using a 416 Rigby and making a lengthwise quartering on shot, there may have been enough for maybe a 2-chunk kabob!

Yes a great place to hunt
I have been there many times.
Jacques is all grown up and will be off to college. I hunted with him when we where there.
Immanuel is no longer there he took employment on another ranch. Mattheus is great and have hunted with him many times he has eyes that are just unbelievable.Biebs was there also and he had a great time also. He shot some very nice trophies.

My copy should come up larger Larry. What a trophy! Moja, the only time I had Steenbok it was very good. Not my favorite way to cook (baked) but it was good none the less.
Cheers,
David
