There was an earlier thread about the world’s record gemsbok and I knew the guy who had it, but it took me awhile to get these photos from him.
This Gemsbok was shot by Arthur Frontczak, a senior life member of SCI and retired airline pilot on April 2, 2004. The SCI score was 109 1/8 for the left horn with a height of 49 5/8” and base of 6”. The right was 47 4/8” with also a base of 6”. The left green score was just over 50’s”. The hunt was with Kalahari Trophies with Hannes Steyn in the Bloukop are of Namibia.

Wendell ReichI saw a picture of a Gemsbuck taken in the Kalahari in Botswana. 46" Bull with 11" bases.
Those bases are the size of a big Kudu or an Eland!
It was the most incredible Gemsbuck I have ever seen.

BwannaI've gotta say gemsbok are by far the most difficult animal for me to judge on the hoof. I can tell a nice one after it's on the ground, but trying to pick a good one out of a herd is impossible for me.

Frank,
That Gemsbuck was "enhanced" according to the owner or one of the staff. Told to me in 2001.
I was impressed with it though!
