To answer your question and I'm no buffalo expert but every buffalo I have encoutered that was not already wounded has made it his quest to get out of the country. I think a charge from an previously unwounded buffalo unless there is something wrong with the buff is very unlikely.

In the best of the worlds it should be that way, however i was charged by an unwounded buffalo on my first DG hunt in Save, Zimbabwe Nov 2007. He was not hurt at all. But as Kevin "Doctari" Robertson made a comment on;

"-That old DB sure must have had shit in his liver as we say !!!!"

Quite interesting hunt.
