RSA is open for hunting all year.
It is hot but unless you are not use to hot weather you should have no problems to hunt. The days are also much longer so more time to relax in the middle of the day and have more shooting lights both in morning and Afternoon.

The bush will be nice and green and thick but it will be negotiable.

The drawback to hunt when it's hot is the trophy care. Trophy care must be done as fast as possible, caping and cleaning the skins.
Other drawback is that you cannot shoot female animals when it comes to plainsgame.

Otherwise no qualm to hunt in summer at all.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

I can offer you a choice of Elephant hunts in Botswana. Either a 7 day package hunt for US$10K. (only one left and dates are fixed) Details here: http://www.kuduland.com/safari-offers-news.htm

Or a combined hunt for 1 exportable trophy bull and a non exportable bull. (only one left) details here: https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1411043/m/886103687

Or I can offer you a PG hunt in Botswana where you can take non exportable Elephants for US$5K each. Details here: http://www.kuduland.com/hunting-in-botswana.htm

It'll be pretty hot though.

Feel free to contact me by e-mail if you need to discuss it further.

I don't know the airline requirements but if it's just that you have to leave the US before the end of March, you might just squeeze in a Mozambique hunt. It's a while since I hunted Mozambique, but I believe the season there still starts 1st April. - If that'll help, try Bahati who posts here.

I hunted Zim last February ('07). It was hot, but as Frederik mentioned, it is doable. Hunt 'till 9:30am then relax or sight see during the midday. Return late in the afternoon. No problems. LDK

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

I'm not sure, but this thread mentions a "buy one, get one free" offer from SAA. Maybe there is another promotion.

It is actually a 2 for the price of one sale another outfitter sent me. Since my wife won't let me go alone and I was going to have to pay full price for her it is like a 1/2 price sale.
She also wants really hot weather and I don't mind that much since I am forced to hunt in the heat all the time.
Thanks for the information. I have actually studied most of your packages over the past year of planning and I appreciate your response.

Frank, you can contact me as well. I had a hunt with an AR member in December. It was not hot at all, we hunted in the rain for a full 2 days. I have a couple of places available, it will be hot and the bush will be dense and it is a total different experience,

FWIW, I've just found this elsewhere.

SAA is offering 2 for 1 rates for flights booked before 1/22. Applies to flights from NY & Wash. Dulles to several SA airports. I called 1-800-521-4845 & verified offer is available if using a travel agent.
