I am leaving shortly for a 21 day in the Selous. Anyone ever hunt with Fulvio Gianola? Safari is with Luke Samaras. Thanks.

Seen a few movies with him =) Have talked to him a couple of times on FB and i also know couple of guys here in Sweden that have hunted with him and only have good words to say about him.

If im not mistaken he posts here on AR sometimes also.

Check out http://huntersvideo.com/index....t=videos&video_id=35

Fulvio took the big leopard and the buffalo charge and Luke the elephant and Lukes son some buffalos.

I remember that I exchanged some emails with him many years ago and we talk about our relatives being from the same region of northern Italy. He seems a good chap from the few emails we exchanged.

I hope some day to hunt with "my cousin" the PH Wink

My name is Lorenzo Gianola Big Grin

Well, you should. Just got home today; shot an elephant (72 inch long tusks; 15.5 circumferance), a beautiful fully maned lion, a leopard, s 35 inch eland, hippo, 2 buff, etc. It was a helluva hunt and would recommned Fulvio to anyone.

By day 16 I was basically done. Shot the big 4 in 8 days (day 9 to 16).

I correspond with Fulvio occasionally. Seems to be a delightful guy.

He's the guy who warned me that the buffalo of Kitiangare are born with a bug up their asses and advised me that a .375 is a bit light to use on them. Right on both counts. Very good advice. (My new .458 is currently in the system.)

He managed Luke's Kitiangare camp for several years.

I am not sure I am going to post any pics; I write, so I use them for my writing. Maybe if I find a pic of one of the trackers alone with the animals, I can post. But you wont' see the best, and you may not see any. Sorry. Once I publish a pic, I can't sell it as never published.

I hunted with Fulvio south of Arusha in '97. He was a replacement PH for Luke's son who had been tossed by a buff and was recovering in the hospital. I could not have asked for a better PH. I'm happy to hear he is still active and doing well.

There is a nice story in the actual Safari Magazine about a 21 days hunt in the Selous.
