Question:
I thought it might be interesting to find out the ages groups we have on the boards. I am posting this in the African section because it generally receives the greatest readership.
Thanks,
Frank

Choices:
under 20
21 to 30
30 to 45

I was 33 when I first signed on to Accurate Reloading. Now I'm 37. Where in the hell did the time go?

I've been on two safaris since the beginning and now I'm planning my 3rd for next July.

I also was surprised how many members younger than me are here.

With 38 I feel a little "old" compared with them, I used to imagine AR members as a bunch of white haired gringos Big Grin

Well, after 158 votes, I am the first under 20.

Let me say that I am 17, and have been cruising this site for about a year now.

I just want to thank Saeed and everyone here who make this website what it is. Ever since reading "Death in Long Grass", I've had the disease and this forum has only added to the allure of Africa. The discussions here add a lot more to my life than much of what is said amongst my teenage peers. Hunting is something I care very much about, and I plan on visiting Africa a few times over the course of my life.

Also, this is my first post, as I felt that I never really had anything significant to say, but now I have a start, and I hope to contribute more to this forum over the years.

Casey.

Welcome to AR Gibson. I am proud to be the first to welcome you. I was just in the process of typing my responses to this poll and wondering why we aren't more actively recruiting more young people. I am glad to see you here. This site will either cure the disease for you or make it WAY more intense.

Yeah I kinda missed that. Of course, when I was twenty I was kind of lost in space as well. Didn't want to be an adult but couldn't act like a kid either.

I wish I could have hunted Africa in my 20's, but like a lot of other people, I was busy buying a house, furniture, cars, and all that other "stuff". African safaris are not cheap, and most working people just don't have the excess funds until later in life.

What's terrible is that I just realized that in January, my son will be in the same group I'm in! The 45 to 70 group! Luckily though, he had his family a little later in life. My eight year old granddaughter told her mother that she was going to ask grandpa to take her hunting. Her brother was teasing her that she couldn't go with him and their dad. (Now where did I see that pink-stocked chipmunk .22?)
