hunting on a friends game farm. Its a self guided thing, so it will be a lot of fun. trial and error. etc its in mupumalunga province about 2hrs from jo'berg int'l airport. I find it quite fun to make my own mistakes cheers,tm "one of the most common african animals is the common coolerbok(or coleman's coolerbok). Will your friend be offering the services of one of his employees or a tracker who knows the farm? How will you self guide this hunt? I would love to hear about how it worked out. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

two days to go, will let you know how it went. I know the ground quite well, i have been there several times and hunted before. I guess my mate trusts me and friends to do the right thing. Of course being gentlemen we'll treat the place like its our own. I know for sure that hunt 4x4 are being rent from a car company. and that the only services i'll get are skinners and general labour to help if the quarry is too large it will be great fun. cheers, tm "one of the most common african animals is the common coolerbok(or coleman's coolerbok). I am back and in post safari blues. long grass and rain in RSA. Never seen the grass so long before. wart pigs plenty, but no good opportunities. ended up passing on eland and Zebra, but got blesbok and black wildebeest. Was busy making sure friends young kids got their hunting. Had real good fun all the same.I did alot of follow ups on impala, zebra etc shot 50 rounds of 416 rigby from the new CZ550 and really enjoyed seeing the big round pass thru all the game. 400gr woodleigh solid, 400 a square dead tough soft, 410 gr weird silver monolithic and some gold monolithics... i also found 3 boxes of rigby 410gr original solids! needless to say i was just blapping (plinking)got lovely results from rocks, trees and animals, with one shot stops from all hunted and followed up. Never had a big bore before, and am wondering why i never did. them big bullets are just cool! we managed to get the 4x4 stuck at least 3 times a day. holes, river ravines, dry washes that turned into raving torrents.... man was it wet. for the record, the CZ550 is in hogs back, one of the earlier ones 16xx. i had minimal work done. glass bedded, stock tang relieved, pachmayr decelerator pad. bolt and action smoothened. mag box holds 4 down no problems. using 1-4 vx II leupold. boom! and it just falls over. the dust kicks behind it as the bullet passes thru! cheers, tm "one of the most common african animals is the common coolerbok(or coleman's coolerbok). Trapmonkey: How hard is it to own guns in Singapore? Where do you shoot? Can you cross into Malaysia and just shoot in the jungle there?

anotherazwriter its tough to own guns here. all guns must be stored at club(no take homes ever!), limited on number in relation to the disciplines you shoot. a new shooter has to be member of private gun club for at least a year with monitored attendance for a year before submission of license application. gun rules strict, but us shooters always find a way to continue our sport. i shoot pistol (ipsc), clays (olympic trap, dbl trap, dtl and sporting) and smallbore rifle here and i keep my hunting rifles in africa with a friend whom i generally hunt with every year. costs are high, with members fees averaging 1500 us, no reloading and limited imports on ammo and guns etc... hope that answers your question. upside is that criminals that use guns can be hung here! armed robbery with firearm can be punishable by death as is murder...and drug dealing. tm "one of the most common african animals is the common coolerbok(or coleman's coolerbok).
