Who knew that my favorite Tracks Across Africa episode would be the one without a shot being fired? The episode about young Andy MacDonald was the best put together piece they've done. (And Dave, you weren't too bad yourself.) The music was mixed superbly - not too overpowering. And the elephants crossing the river shots reminded me of seeing a very similar thing on the Zambezi, with Gibbo and a friend who's also passed, right after I'd shot my first Impala. I knew right then I'd always come back.

Well done.

The 2 shows I've seen about cameramen have been great.
Shots don't have to be fired to make a great show on Africa.
Keep up the good work Dave.

I agree that the show was interesting and enjoyable, but at times the "background" music overpowered the dialogue. I also have this issue with some sports broadcasts where they mix in crowd noise, so I know I have a hearing issue, but I imagine others over 50 might too.
I love the show, just wanted to give that feedback.

I also have some age-related hearing loss, and background music makes it difficult to hear what people are saying. Turning up the volume just makes for a louder level of mush. Andy McDonald was in Mwanja camp 3 years ago when my wife and I were there. He is a fine young man, pleasant company, and very good videographer. Thanks for the show on him, Dave.

My wife and I have reached that stage in life where whether on not we'll be able to hear each other talking is a major consideration on which restaurant we choose.

I hear there's a later stage sometimes when neither one cares if they hear the other one.
