Just thought I would get a pole on your favorite time of year to hunt in Tanania? I am looking in to a hunt there and just wanted some added input from others that have been there as I have not been there yet. Thanks and Semper Fi

I hunted in November. It was a hit or miss hunt dependent on the rains. The rains didn't fall and the buff didn't leave Tarangire Park for Lolkisale so I never saw a buff there. Two weeks earlier, ForrestB who also posts here on occasion, shot a 45"+ bull in the exact same camp. Some areas like Masailand depend heavily on the timing of the rains... Luckily the Lobo River is a permanent source of water and I shot a buff in Lobo. But shit happens...if we would have had timely rains I am sure we would have killed some big buff in Lolkisale! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch... Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! - Rudyard Kipling Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

I am going on my first African hunt August 3rd of this year. Going to Kilambero valley (spelling), it is west of the Selous, it is a flood plain that has now dried out. Several people told me to hunt before the rains start
