458LottfanBuff and PG hunt in Tanzania What time of year?
Just thought I would get a pole on your favorite time of year to hunt in Tanania? I am looking in to a hunt there and just wanted some added input from others that have been there as I have not been there yet.
Thanks and Semper Fi

bwanamrmI hunted in November. It was a hit or miss hunt dependent on the rains. The rains didn't fall and the buff didn't leave Tarangire Park for Lolkisale so I never saw a buff there. Two weeks earlier, ForrestB who also posts here on occasion, shot a 45"+ bull in the exact same camp. Some areas like Masailand depend heavily on the timing of the rains...
Luckily the Lobo River is a permanent source of water and I shot a buff in Lobo. But shit happens...if we would have had timely rains I am sure we would have killed some big buff in Lolkisale!
I am going on my first African hunt August 3rd of this year. Going to Kilambero valley (spelling), it is west of the Selous, it is a flood plain that has now dried out.
Several people told me to hunt before the rains start
