Hi guys, any suggestions on a PG hunt where my wife will be tagging along. Shes a great girl but likes her comforts. I would consider the Cape but would prefer Namibia or Botswana.

Thanks

Matt

Mate, you're going to get plenty of suggestions etc on this, but the truth is there's plenty of luxury camps in all 3 of the countries you mention and the best will vary from year to year or even month to month dependent upon a number of factors.

The trick is not to make the lowest price your first criteria..... I'd suggest you start researching country/area/operator about a year before you plan to go. Smiler

Lots of good places out there. I'm taking my wife with me on her first trip. We are staying with my friend Louis Van Bergen on his personal farm. He has very nice accomidations--not five star but very comfortable.

I've had a couple of my good friends have hunted with Kowas (Terry Littlepage, and elk8801) and had very good experences-- Terry took his wife, and family and they loved it!

There are many more out there, these are just a couple that I know about.

You and your wife will love this place.

Bergzicht Game Lodge

We have known Hannes and Geraldine and their girls for several years now and my wife (who is rather picky about her accomodations and food) loved their farm and lodge. It is close enough to Windhoek for a day trip of dinner if you want something different during you safari. I'm not sure if he has his prices listed on his website, but I can get them for you if needed.

If you should choose the Eastern Cape, I would recommend Blaauwkrantz, my wife and I took our first African hunt there several years ago and the Rudman's have a fantastic operation there, we have been back 5 times, we are going again next month and are taking 4 other couples with us, it will be the first African experience for 3 of the couples....I bet they get hooked too.

Be sure to budget in a few trophy fees for her. She may not be a hunter now but things can change fast after a few days on safari.

Have a great time!

Until my wife had back problems, I was planning a family trip back to Shona Hunting Adventures in Namibia. The owner, Johann, posts on here as Shona.

His lodge would be a great place for what you're looking for.

took my wife to Gras Ranch and then toured Namibia for a month. She had a great time. She had been to RSA in the EAstern Cape a few years before and she liked Namibia better.

There are 5 star accommodations with spa's and the works, and there are remote tented affairs with the old Africa ambiance. Hunting, photo safaris, Nat'l park touring, everything from casino's, garden routes, winery's, saltwater fishing, hot air balloon/elephant rides to cage diving with Great White Sharks. I would settle on what you both would enjoy, then ask for suggestions. Cost will be dependent upon your desires and time of year. LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
