I have a CZ550 in .416 Rigby that AHR worked their magic on.

I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm not sure if they still work on rifles you don't buy from them. This was a few years back.

Thanks Biebs. That is some gorgeous hardware.
While I will just have to live with my lowly .375 for now, at least I am no longer in the dark.

At over $30,000 each they should be good.

American Hunting Rifles sells some nice custom hunting and semi-custom rifles also.

mike, I believe the Legend is currently about 1/2 that.

You are correct. The Classic is over $34,000. the Legend starts at around $15,500.

Also, looks like my favorite scope...a Leupold 4.5x14x50 with #4 German ILL dot reticle? I see the rheostat on the scope tube. Yours mights be a 3.5x10, though.

Thanks Biebs. It's a 3.5X10 illuminated with a duplex reticle. It sure worked on the big cat! Big Grin

If your price point is 3k or less, your options are: Kimber, Ruger, CZ, or Winchester.

What are some of the good ones today?
I hear many complaints about almost every brand on the market these days.

Are there any rifles that you can pretty much count on to be top quality right out of the box/off the shelf?

CRF Commercially available? From a factory manufacturer?
No.

You have to spend more and look a boutique shops – or be willing to have some work done on the gun after purchase by a good smith.
