Apologies to Suretrike, but I can't help but to borrow his tag line for an Aaron post a while ago:

Ya, we're hunting 1-2 buffalo. We've seen roughly 250 buff so far, about shot one last night. The grass is still long here in May, so getting a shot last evening just didn't work for film and all. But plenty here, getting em will happen. We are only hunting dagga boys, we would easily have killed two bulls already, if were to shoot in herds, but they don't do that here, and I'm happy with that.
We've seen 1 elephant bull so far, and we passed up a 56" - 57" Kudu today, that stood broadside for 2 min. Probably gonna regret that!

Blatant self-propaganda and advertorial. No one person should shoot so many lions just to build a reputation and busines for themselves. Getting on film just to do more advertising and money-making...Azzhole. Instead, how about contributing to lion conservation- how about $100,000 out of your own profits from killing them for starters?

proper elephant/Cape buffalo medicine.
Used Sam Rose's favorite elephant-stomping recipe - proved effective on all that might ail you should you otherwise use something inadequate.

Great kitty. Ignore the usual suspects. I guess I only needed one Ele, but I'm gonna go kill some more in a couple weeks. As long as it is legal and in compliance with CITES, contrarians should STFU and MTOB!

Mind your own business.
I doubt he hunts lions every year to build a reputation. He hunts them because he loves to hunt lions.
If i could afford it I would hunt lions every year, too.
Aaron you are the man. Keep on living the dream

11 May 2013, 14:53
RidgemanHey Hunter54.
How much do you spend on conservation every year ?
Nowhere near as much as the contributing sportsmen and women who post on this site I venture to say.
I bet you're another "conservation" groupie who has little real understanding beyond the rhetoric. We're used to your type.
If you really want to contribute to Lion survival - throw yourself in front of one - I'm sure he/she will appreciate the easy meal.

Jesus - how can someone post this shit ?
Sincerely , the most stupid post i read here on AR for years.
I crossed with Aaron many years ago when he was hunting lion in Sankuyo and one can feel his passion for lion hunting and he is accomplishing with our hunting rules so i would call him a true hunter.
Way to go Aaron , my compliments !

Aaron NeilsonWe shot a great lone dagga boy this morning, good fun. But it's benn cloudy, windy and raining a lot of the day too.
Just before stopping for lunch we ran into another herd of buff, where towards the outer edge stood a huge 44" bull! Totally hard topped, and big! But the guys were true to their position on not shooting in herds, and off we went. Getting him, would have been easy.
We did quickly get onto a group of 4 dagga boys, but they were all a bit young still - so we passed.

I saw this last night and had actually written out a not so well thought out, scathing yet hilarious response to this ridiculous post but thats exactly what Hunter54 was looking for. He wants to get people riled so I am not going to give him what he wants.
Hunter54, hunters are natures greatest conservationists. The fact that these animals have value is what keeps them alive and if Aaron is willing to spend his hard earned money to have the privilege to hunt them then good for him. Whether he kills 1 or 100 he is contributing to the conservation of lions. Hell, he has already contributed well over the $100,000 for the benefit of lions if you tally up the prices of his hunts.

FALSE! WRONG. He did do just that to establish his reputation for lions...Aaron Neilson made it a point of advertising on his former website that he has shot the most lions and built a reputation hunting lions. Much of his marketing materials emphasized the fact that he has shot the most lions and as such knows where to shoot more.
How about disclosures? Someone on the Boddington thread mentioned FTC regulations- apparently they require that a writer, marketer, promoter of such things as hunts disclose vested interests in companies or where you received discounts to talk or promote about something...Has Aaron disclosed how much he's paid for or has he mentioned the vested interests he has on most of his hunts? I doubt that he's paid the price of the average hunter to hunt the lions that he has, so don't tell me that he contributes to conservation when he's getting discounts and sales leads/marketing on the back-end...
I'd be curous to hear Aaron's response given that he seems to be avoiding this part of the discussion.
12 May 2013, 02:42
Tim HeraldI imagine he has more important things to do on safari than argue on the internet. Yes, he may post occasional updates, because some of us enjoy knowing how his trip is going, but I'd be surprised if he wants to waste valuable time in Africa arguing on this forum.
