I'd buy a double, probably not a Searcy, but that's fine, make it a Searcy 450 NE or whatever and having $30k+ left over, I'd go hunting.

(Actually, I'd buy a old Rhodda or Rigby or similar underlever double hammer rifle in .450 or 500 bpe and spend the rest of Africa or buy an original Sharps and hunt the rest in the West. Option #2 is probably my favorite).

I think you should spend $20K on a getting married with a lavish wedding, then get divorced and spend the other $20K on attorneys fees.

Definitely buy less equipment, and use the equipment you do have to hunt more.

Exactly: use it to go hunting!

Even if you have to use a "cheap" 375 bolt!

Hunting rather than guns and equipment for me..
21-28 days in Tanzania "all" included.. Big Four, lesser kudu, sitatunga, gerenuk, fringe-eared oryx, kirks dikdik, grants and thompson gazelle, lichtenstein hartebeest etc etc.. Well... 40K might not cover this operation! But it sounds great!

Another vote for less equipment and more hunting here!

And if you really have to get married, be practical, go see a judge and then spend your life savings hunting.

I'd hire D'Arcy Echols to build a best-quality bolt gun, then invest the rest of the money in a safari........

I guess it would depend on your net worth. If was less than a million, then I would invest the 40k, at least most of it. I know, I am a stick in the mud...

I think you overlooked the "first and only" part! You're practically an african yourself after all the hunts you've been on!

EricD, the only safari I've been on consisted of prairie dogs and coyotes in Wyoming. Now that I think of it, the furthest east I've ever been is Denver, Co. Man, I live a sheltered life.

500grains, I'm guessing $40,000.00 would be enough for both of us.....

700nitro,

Was your PH a leftie, or did he plan on restocking the rifle with a right handed stock?

Why are you selling?

Why are you buying again?

Just wondering. No malicious intent.

I have a buyer been--but not a seller--for thirty years.

And I regret those I sold before then, too.

Just wondering.

i loved that 500 nitro that is why i want another one and will buy one and soon as some funds come available.

I'd pay off some credit cards we have, then get my 458 finished and take my stepfather with me on a full out buff hunt. Of course I would send my wife and mom somewhere far away and nice at the same time so there were no hard feelings.

That would be Norway you're talking about when it comes to gun restrictions, and many other things...

I didn't know that the GMA came in linx. If the quality and price is about the same as the German ones, I see your point in using the GMA over a foreign product.
