safari-lawyerI sent him e-mail a day or two ago figuring that his return date was upon us. I've not heard back from him yet, but I'd estimate that he will be home in a day or two.

Idaho Sharpshooterthanks for asking. I got back last night about 5pm. I couldn't wait, I called 465 with the basic report.
54 inch Kudu
36 inch Gemsbuck
26 inch Waterbuck
Bonus: about ninety minutes into the first day, we walk around a bend in the brush following fresh Kudu tracks and there is a Caracal standing in the tracks. Shot, missed, shot, missed again. Both times about six inches low. Dumb cat just stares at the dirt impact area. My PH says "that's 200 yards, not 100. Try again.". I put the crosshairs atop his head and take the third shot. Dead cat. I hope to put a good report up tomorrow or Monday afternoon. Had a tremendous hunt, and plenty of Amarula in the evenings...

craig boddingtonWell done, Rich!!!!!! That caracal is a wonderful bonus...I eventually got one with hounds (Eastern Cape, couple years ago), but have never, ever seen one stand around for a shot. Great trophy (as are the rest!).
Cheers, Craig

N E 450 No2Well done Rich.

I shot a caracal in Zim with my 9,3x74R double.
It is one of my most favorite trophies, along with my heyena, side striped jackel, and civit cat, and warthogs...
I like the "little odd ball" animals.
Next to elephants, they are my favorites.

Idaho SharpshooterPegleg,
when I got to the hunting lodge the manager informed me that an Email (Jungle Vine) from you warning the Baboons that a "shock & awe" campaign was coming, and to abandon the Limpopo Province immediately had been received the day before. It worked, we did not see even one during the eleven days afield. I am now legend among the various primate populations.
