Tendrams,
you obviously don't know me or you would know that I would never settle for the level of "trophies" you described.

Well Doc your not alone in that he got me as well! I certainly thought he was serious, and though I certainly understand there are many who live by the tape measure, turning down the buffalo pictured on day 8 of a 10 day safari seemed a little over the top to me! bewildered

Here...I'll do my part to get him to 100. A good rule-of-thumb is: If you see a thread started by 505 gibbs...avoid it like the plague.

yes it was, but the jig is up. If there is anyone left who didn't realize this was the product of someone stuck on the wrong side of the pond this year, consider this your notice. To those of you who enjoyed the fun, your welcome, and for the rest of my juicy little huckleberries, just know that you were delicious. jumping

people really hate it when they are made to look stupid. oh well, that's life. just remember, P.T. Barnum was right. there is a sucker born every minute. just try hard not to show it was your time. when someone posts a picture of an 80 plus lb elephant( taken in Kruger Park) and states they passed on it looking for a bigger bull _ DON'T BITE THE BAIT!!!

Actually, it is tough NOT be the "sucker" when the attitude being presented by the OP is actually a position that some (perhaps many) might actually adopt. The essence of a "hoax" after all is that the initially stated position be "ridiculous" or "impossible". Using your own example, do you actually believe that there are NOT people out there who would pass on an 80 pounder because they already have one or two of those and really REALLY want to break the three figure barrier? I would wager that this state of mind is much more common than one might first believe. As I said before, almost nothing is surprising on AR anymore.

This was all in fun, but I would not care if that really was his attitude.
It would have been his safari, no one elses.
I'm in it for the adventure, fun & adreneline rush.
I'm not a tape measure hunter, but don't mind that others are. None of my business!
