The only African animal that I have hunted for more than one of is Bushbuck.

I had to shoot two of them because the first one only had one horn (the left) so I had to shoot another that had only a right horn to even it out.

Impala. Between camp meat, taking nice ones for trophies, taking some for leopard bait (for myself & other hunters), I lost count along the way.

3 trips 15 animals, only 2 duplicates but of different subspecies
2 eland (cape and LDE)
2 bushbuck

Depending on how you divide things some might say the eland weren't duplicates.

Impala - I have no idea, but a lot!
Zebra - I'm sure at least 15, if not more (Great bait animal)
Puku - With Andrew and Richard, plenty!
Giraffe - 6, also great lion bait!
Buffalo - 21
Lion - 15
Elephant - 6
Leopard - 4
Hippo - 9
N.A. Elk - Not sure of total, but at least 9 over 350".
Mule Deer - Plenty as well, at least 4 over 190".
N.A. Bears (all 4) at least 20
Most everything else 1 - 5, just depending on where / what species.

I think we all have a problem - obsessive hunting! Smiler

Also, you elk tally is being to look like the banned IdahoSharpshooter's tally!!!

If you have any of those 190" mule deer still walking around, we need to talk. But only in eastern Colorado.....

What a minute... I thought you killed a really big Stone's Sheep??? Wouldn't that count for something???

Mr. "I want the Weatherby" Boddington is headed for his 100th buff this year....

Larry - you need to pick up your feet a bit and stop all of that sheep and bear hunting - but only after we pinch a couple of MP's.

Quite impressive! Were all the lions and elephant males or a couple of lionesses/cows in that list? Also, I believed that you had shot at quite more leopards, still very impressive!

If you really want the truth, I have no idea!

I never keep track.

I know one year was exceptional, as I shot 76 animals.

That include lots of impalas, lots of buffalo, several sable, waterbuck, kudu, zebra, 2 lions.

We were shooting whater was left on our quota for that concession - in fact, all my hunts in Zimbabwe were at the end of the season, so we can finish whatever was left.

Lots of areas we hunted required quite a bit of walking, and apparently many hunters are not too keen on doing that.

Worked great for me.

As we walked for hundreds of kilometers, and the camp staff were very happy with the meat.

We shot 4 buffalo one morning, loaded one up and headed back to camp.

The butchery staff saw us drive in, and came running.

“We have more buffalo for you!”

“Good” they shouted.

“Two buffalo!”

“Good”

“Three buffalo”

“No no no”

“Four buffalo”

“NO NO NO NO!”

They were working till midnight that day clap

But not a single one of our not too distant relatives, the baboons.

For most of my African hunts I have tried to shoot new to me or different animals on each trip.

I think the most animals of one species that I have shot was 4 Sable: 1 Common and 3 Roosevelt. One of the Roosevelt was in a poacher's gin trap with a broken leg.

I have also shot 4 Warthogs and 4 Baboons.

Next would be 3 Gemsbok, 3 Impala, 3 Blesbok (1 White), and 3 Bushbucks (a Limpopo, a Chobe, and a Cape).

For North American animals, the only ones that I've kept track of were my 35 Elk.

In my 50 years of Colorado and Montana hunting I have also shot at least 30-35 each of Pronghorn antelope and Mule and/or Whitetail deer.

I have also shot 5 Caribou (1 Alaskan, 1 Mountain, 2 Central Canadian, and 1 Quebec-Labrador).

And 3 Bighorn rams and 3 Black Bears.

As I stated in my previous post (last year), Buffalo for Africa. Many here have included NA as well.

For NA, for me, it would be Antelope by far. An average of 5 a year for the last 25 years. I love to hunt them and I like antelope meat more than all others. Works for me!!
