1115JudgeG Needs Some Thoughts and Prayers UPDATE
For the last few months, JudgeG has been suffering from a bad time with kidney stones. Today he is undergoing one, possibly two procedures to remove them. If they don't work, then it will be major surgery time. He it a tough man, but this has really gotten him down, especially since it is a week before DSC and all of the fun there. I wish he'd hurry and get well. Hell, he's grumpy enough when he's healthy!!!
Update: I just talked to him on the telephone and he seems to be doing fine. He sounded good and the doctor was pleased with the results. Evidently they blasted to problem kidney stones using magnum rifle primers and 83grns of 4895. Once pulverized the doctors could see the pieces already moving towards the end of the barrel (short as it is) and sent him home. He told me he was pain free for the moment, and should be good to go by tomorrow. He is planning on going deer hunting tomorrow if weather permits. Talk about a die hard!!!! Seriously though, he did sound great and I'm sure he'll be in Dallas with a taxi full of libations for next Saturday night.

Safari-HuntEven if the kidney stones were made of Titanium there is now way that the Judge will give up ! Get well soon and please have a drink for me at DSC

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! 'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

Frank MartinezI wish you a full recovery Ernest. I know the nurses are in for a real treat when you check in and of course a real laugh after they get you into the gown. Remember they would prefer you wear two gowns-Better to cover both sides of that unique physique under the sheets. I wish I were going to be there this year but the drudgery of life continues for me.
Thank you for the heads up Dale. Perhaps you could post his room number so we can flood his room with calls and keep him up at all hours of the day and night.
I just noticed this is a couple days after your post. I certainly hope everything went well.

Hog KillerJudge, sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I know how painful they can be, only once and they were small (at least I have an idea).
Will be praying for you big guy. Hopefully you will be at DSC to lead the Saturday evening "events".
Remember, you need to drink more,

Lewis50While on a cross country motorcycle trip back in the seventies my buddy came down with a kidney stone attack. He was a Georgia hog farmer, a tough man, and the pain put him down for a several days. I hope you recover quickly and are never bothered again, we Georgians can't afford to have a man of your stature bothered by such an ailment. As the others have said, enjoy the nurses, may they all be young and beautiful.

Use Enough GunYes, for those of us fortunate to have experienced kidney stones, we all too well know and understand the pain and Judge G's grumpiness. For those that have not had that glorious experience, you can compare the pain as being only second to that that women go through in childbirth. And, to put that into perspective, for those of you who have had your wives bear children (and curse your name during labor and delivery), you also know what I mean.

JudgeGThanks folks!
It's 2:44 a.m. on Saturday morning and I feel NO PAIN! Can't sleep, but NO PAIN!
Last time I had the procedure (in June), I was incapacitated for a week, but, keeping my fingers crossed, maybe this time I'll get lucky.... Therefore,

Dallas is looking good!
I just got to figure out how to quit making stones.
JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Wendell is right, you need to switch to Mexican WATERFILL & FRASIER Burbon! That stuff will melt kidney stones, and your boots, as well, if you spill it on them! Get well mate!

MarteriusMy sincere whishes for a speedy complete recovery! I am a irregular visitor here these days, and were much startled when I saw the heading. I am very glad you are free of pain now.
I know from own experience what kidney stones are like; mine were small and I hate to think about what a bigger one would be like. Mine were probably caused by broccoli, according to the doctor, so I have never touched that stuff since.
