Don't think that croc survived to ever pull that stunt again. Squish.

I have seen a couple of similar videos where crocs try to pull similar stunts. I wonder if they have any perspective of size and strength of their quarry. They just see a dangling trunk in the water and go for it or what?

That croc must surely have not realized what that was attached to.

Wonder what would have happened if he had grabbed one of the juveniles?

Andrew (fairgame) and Richard Bell-Cross have a story about that.

I wasn't quite whizzing in the river, but I was once standing on the bank of the Lugenda in Northern Mozambique, back to the water, trying to decipher some native writing on a tree, when a 12 footer slipped out of the water behind me with me in mind for lunch. I caught movement as a reflection in my sunglasses and, when I spun quickly around, the Croc decided that discretion was in order and turned back to the water, although my handgun was several yards away and I was all but helpless if he had come on. Scary!

I never did decipher the writing on the tree, but I now think that it was probably "Beware of the Crocodiles"

When you get bored with life, start hunting dangerous game with a handgun.
