Did anyone see the new, renamed "African Hunting Gazette"? It was the African Sporting Gazette. It came with a dvd on Zimbabwe profiling several outfitters and filming one hunt with Mokore Safaris.

Those folks are putting a very fine magazine!

All of the info is solid and it is a very high quality effort.

Get one....

I'll second that...

I've been a subsciber for the past five years and look forward to every issue. The magazine has gotten better over the years and now with the dvd on the featured country included, it is a "must subscribe" for the serious African hunters out there!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

If by that do you mean the one with the strong female presence on the magazine's masthead? The answer is yes, and it is a better product as a result.

I enjoyed the Namibia DVD and the video has 85% convinced a friend who has never hunted Africa before to make the trip. I look forward to the Zimbabwe DVD.

Looking forward to mine. I just hope that some toss in the postal services has not decided that it is his. Cool

how would a strong feminine presence make it "better"? Editing talent isn't gender specific. Of course, having an African-American President has made this country a much better country on the same line of reasoning...

just curious

Idaho,
I do not know about editing, but I have spoken to Birgit Lubin and she is the real deal. Her husband is a PH and she has hunted, worked the camps in several companies on many if not hundreds of safari's. The lady knows her business and the safari business. Her interviews with the PH's in the "PH Interview" section of the magazine are solid and she asks very good and revealing questions. She asks from the perspective of someone who knows the "ins and outs" of the business.

If you get the chance, call her or go see her at one of the shows.

Dogcat.
You are correct. She is a amazing lady with keen perception and wide talent. She has a wonderful story of coming to Africa and meeting Rudy. She has spent more time in the African bush than any hunter that I know or have heard of and can spot BS before it walks into camp. She can run any bush camp or business as demonstrated by the quality and success of the publication. Brooke is equally as comfortable and capable in a formal evening setting.

She can out shoot most men.

That is not correct. Birgit's last name is not Lubin. Birgit is not married to a PH. Rudys Lubin's wife is Brooke.

My typo - of course Brooke is Rudy's wife. I am now in deep trouble with two women. They are both wonderful ladies.

Thanks for the life line MOJO.
