Then the fun started clap

We were getting calls from all over the place, from president of this and vice president of that.

I refused to take any of their calls. Telling my manager that I had no wish to deal with a bank that employs an arrogant prick who had no decency to keep his personal dislikes to himself.

My manager wrote exactly what I said in his communication to them.

Ever since, any time one of their big shots is town, they call and ask for a meeting.

I have refused to meet any of them.

Thumbs up!

Saeed, one word suffices to describe this former athlete's conduct: Gutless.

And another word to characterize your guest banker's behavior: Asinine.

And one more word for your response: Perfect.

Easy to do this when the bank wants your business. If the roles were reversed and you wanted something from the bank,
knowing that the representative was anti-hunting, I think most of us would be wise enough to meet at a neutral location.
Does that make someone a whimp or smart? Business needs to be business, and not personal, in both directions.

How true.

Saeed is speaking from a very unique & powerful financial position that he was privileged to be born into.
McGrath has no where near that kind of wealth, power or privilege....he is from a NSW rural country town and
still has his ambitions to consider.

just like you regularly do about your personal opinion dislikes concerning SCI and Mark Sullivan.

And I didnt think your were the kind of person to take a bank employees view so seriously.
I guess you felt you had to teach him a lesson about what happens when a money-leverage influential Emirati
happens to take personal offence.

remember SAEED,

McGrath is expected to behave and bark like a strained-dog by his heavyweight corporate bosses.
just like you expect & prefer bank employees to behave & speak in a preferred certain way.

You in effect are not really much different to the wealthy corporations who have a leash on McGrath.
In that you both have certain expectations from people.

McGrath says or does the 'wrong thing' he gets punished....Bank employee says or does the 'wrong thing' and he gets punished.
same-same.

I would never invite a business association bank employee to my house.
and i don't mind people expressing their views in a civil manner whether it
be about hunting,abortion,meat VS vegetarian,fracking, Ukraine,etc,etc,
be it like or dislike of such, whether it be in my home or outside.

and like i said, Saeeds personal position of power, money, privilege and influence,
is comparable to very few other people that hunt.....Tentrams point is very valid.

SAEED,
Just wondering;.. if the bank employee in your house had instead somehow mentioned through conversation
that he was pro_Israel rather than Palestinian, ...would Saeed get angry and punish the bank for that as well...?
OR
IF the guy was from the US representing UAEs multi-billion military defence contracts with the US,
would you press to have the contract stopped simply bcause he said he didn't like hunting?
....ME ThinKs NOT.... Wink ...cause just like McGrath the Emirati would 'wimp-out', so as not to jeoardise their own best interests.

Q./ What list of opinions on subjects do you tolerate without setting in motion a reprisal punishment,
and what list of ones don't you tolerate?

Theres a big difference between an extremely wealthy Emirati having yet another bank account to stuff their immense stockpiling wealth in
and then closing it down and just shifting the funds elsewhere,..cause it don't really effecte Emirati empire of wealth or income.
VS
a person like McGrath who's whole livelyhood as promoter of charities and lucrative sports comentary job
which are greatly effected by his words & actions in the public eye.

Saeed is in position that way few people are in....yet Saeed is just in different pecking order to McGrath.
The Emerati as whole are still in a pecking order make no mistake about that. Theres proof to that by the
way they still deal with the US in major contracts, and thats despite how many things the US does that SAEED
takes offence to or does not agree with.
One could say the UAE wimps-out on things so as not to jeopardise their ambition of getting something from someone
who has something they really want or need. ......but we should remember ,they are only human like McGrath.
In effect, when the stakes are high enough for the Emirati , they will behave just like McGrath.

Im rather confident you could walk into an Emirati household with hunting trophies on the wall, tell them you don't like hunting,
and still find them willing to sign multi-Billion$ contracts with your Co. to supply them with vital national defence technology and hardware.
...Hence everything is relative in this world.

BTW, this isn't the only time the Australian "media" have tried to crucify athletes who like shooting.

Any Aussies remember those swimmers who went to Vegas and fired full-auto weapons and put up photos on Facebook?

The wankers had conniptions about that too, including Swimming Australia ...

Saeed effectively and politely took a big ding out of this person's career, if not ended it with his current employer.

So after all this hooha Glenn cannot show a trophy.

Sorry for quoting TRAX so any portion of his post shows here!

Trax, the person or any person is allowed his/her personal opinion, when in his OWN home or in public! However this person was not in the public, or in his own home but in the home of his host, Saeed! There is a very big difference here, one does not insult a person in his own home if he has even the slightest pinch of decorum! My little friend that joker would have hit the road in short order if he had been in my home and made such a statement about my choice of hunting and/or guns!

When Saeed makes his opinion on MS or SCI, he is speaking in his own home not yours, or mine! Unlike Saeed you may be typing in your own home, but you are being read in Saeed's home! If I were Saeed you would be tossed out the door as well for calling him down in his home .
