Made it most of the way, am in the midst of a long Joburg layover. One word describes Airbus <<<Eeeeewwwwwww>>>> I miss the upper deck on the old 747! There were lots of bwanas on the plane. Greg R and his group are off to Namibia.

I'm relaxing now in the Premier Club, have had a shower and some crustless sandwiches and soup. Judge Ernest, if you are reading this, I've just painted my toe nails a nice color of periwinkle blue, kinda like faded blue jeans. Got to look sharp on safari. Anyway, not the purple you've seen before.

I will meet Buzz and Ganyana tonight. And am hoping my equipment meets me on time in Harare.

OK, one more coat of nail polish and then a nap...

I've got 74D on the way home. I had a good seat out, if there is one in coach. Bulkhead is next best and that is where I was. Good legroom. Still the airbus has very narrow seating, I am 5'9" and my shoulders were beyond the seat back. I was sitting next to a 6'4" guy so it was tight. He was spilling over which pushed me into the aisle. The coach seats are like the ones you find in commuter planes that are usually only in the air about an hour and a half, not 18 hours.

Staff was courteous and food/beverages plentiful. If you get a bulkhead seat use your TV monitor to keep people from bumping you all night if you get an aisle seat. The aisles are also very narrow. Glad I did not have an "entertainment box" under my seat. All I can say is I felt real sorry for all the people who had to have one. They are huge and there was lots of them.

Ann,

Please remember to give Walter a clip behind his ear hole next time you see him.

He said ""I'm sort of there"! Only a women would say something like this! You are either there, or you are NOT! You cannot be in between!"

And looking at his air ticket, he said "You have 1A and I have 1B! Why is it always you who sits by the window ha? I am going to complain to the captain tomorrow!"

And I am sure he will too. Luckily, the captain is one of our friends, and he knows how to deal with him.

No Buff (I gather) Just ele and perhaps a leopard. And since the rifle belongs to 500 Nitro it is unlikely to be a .45-70 Wink Did offer her an 1890's vintage Winchester 86 in .45-70 but Buzz declined it before she could answer Big Grin

What? The PH did not immediately recognize the superiority of a lever gun in 45-70 over a bolt gun in .375 for elephant hunting? I am flabbergasted. Smiler
