Two run-of-the-mill .375 H&Hs. The one of the top is an Interarms (Zastava) Mauser, and the one on the bottom is a mid- '60s Belgium Browning FN with a custom Bishop stock. As luck would have it the Interarms is a tack driver and the much more expensive Browing shoots minute-of-the-side-of-a-barn. But I love it anyway.

Posted for Phill Pittman:

"Its a 223 I had made by Martini and Hagn. Its all scaled down to look like a miniture English big-bore ala H&H or Rigby. In fact the front sling stud is from an original Rigby 275."

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Oh my bad! I read further into the thread and see the info!

P.S. I am going to try to use the same method to take rifle pics! thumb

Canadian bush style...

Rifle on the vertical is a 2004 Remington M-700 Classic in 8x57. Sweet shooting rifle with 220gr Sierra GameKings.
A Marlin M-1895XLR in .45-70 and my CZ-550 .458 Lott.

We are hunting black bear by cruising the logging areas, glassing and stalking.

No bears yet though we did get these grizzly footprints.

And we found this 50" class moose shed antler.

Here is the Martini and Hagn for Mr. Pittman. Nice piece and probably the classiest .223 you'll ever see. Left handed too.

Nice example of a classic 721. It's always nice to see the older guns still in use.

My basic Africa battery.

It changes from week to week, but for today it is the CZ 550 Safari Magnum .375 H&H, a Remington Model Seven .308 Winchester, and a Ruger M77 RSM MkII .458 Lott.

Depending on what I like at any given moment I could replace any of the above with a 7x57 Mauser, .300 WinMag, .338 WinMag, .416 Taylor, and soon, a .470 Capstick. As a matter of fact, I think I'll get rid of the Lott for $1300 if anyone thinks they need one.

I seem to be rather smitten by rifles in .375 H&H. Nothing wrong with that, except that the darn things seem to follow me home. The result is that over the years I’ve owned more .375s than is sensible. At various times, my gun safe has held, and I have hunted with, three-seven-fives by Winchester, Weatherby, Whitworth, Remington, Ruger, Sako and Dakota.

Here are two of my favorites.

This first one is a classy Sako Safari Grade in .375 H&H. A lovely rifle, sculpted in the trim English style. Good wood, 23.5-inch barrel and nicely balanced. Original Sako rings.

This, however, is my all-time favorite – a Dakota M76 Safari in .375 H&H. Striking English walnut, quarter rib and banded front sight, 23-inch barrel, Talley bases and rings with a trim, tough Leupold VX-III 2.5-8. This rifle carries, handles, shoots, hunts and looks like a million bucks.

I suppose I should show you one more - not a .375, but a .458 Winchester Magnum. This one is a mid-1970s Winchester M70 African. For several years it was my go-to elk rifle. Why? Because elephants are in short supply in Colorado. A hardy .458 with 510-grain softs does make a fine stopping rifle for cow elk.

If I had to choose between 577s .470 N.E. Francotte double and Phil Pittmans Martini and Hagn in 223 caliber I think I would short circuit and pass out with indescision and envious greed.

My new .404 Jefferys mag mauser will have a stock pattern and metal work very simular to the Martini and Hagn stock, only all growed up big!

I've always been a sucker for these things:
1). Pretty women
2). GOOD wiskey
3). rifles with beautiful wood & engraving
(not in that order either!)

This post is rifle porn! Wish I had one to show....mine are all wall flowers compared to your Belles of the Ball.....

Thanks all for sharing
