All this praise of Larry is akin to hero worship.

I find it difficult to digest.

I have hunted with Larry so let me enlighten you as to his "tactics" that don't give an animal a chance.

First Larry is way too good of physical condition. It is blatantly unethical and unfair that he is able to walk 15-20 miles a day without complaint in 120 degree heat. How is that fair to any animal.

Second, Larry has way too good of a time. His PH's and trackers work extra hard for his success due to his general good nature. Again unfair. He also is fully capable of hunting on his own and requires no hand holding. This is just wrong.

Third, That HAT. Trophy animals are distracted at the sight of that thing on approach. They forget to run and are mesmerized by its appearance. Again unfair and the ethics of which are murky.

Fourth, Larry is too damn good a shot. To be fair, maybe he should shoot left handed.

I just wanted to let you guys know who the real Larry Shores is before you erect monuments and engage in idolatry of any nature. For ease of discussion we shall just refer to him as LS hereto forward.

Sorry to burst your bubble

Jeff

Thanks for the heads up!

Just confirms what I have suspected all along, LS and MS are related. In fact, I seem to recall LS saying once that MS was his brother from another mother.

PS My BS meter went off the chart when I saw LS's hat and knew something fishy was going on.

Damn you guys are hurting my feelings about that hat. It has been with me a long time. Hell, I have an ex wife younger than that hat. jumping

I am self conscious about it now. I am going to see if I can buy Buzz's hat from him. Surely, it isn't as ugly as mine.

Larry

I reckon the people of the world can be divided into two types. Those with style and who appreciate a stylish hat and those that don't......... to hell with the latter. Just carry on with your stylish titfer tat. Wink

True story. The hat Buzz wears is (was?) mine. I left it after one of my hunts so I would not have to take it over again for the next hunt. I show up the next year and the bastard has stolen it. That hat made me feel like I was in the movie Lawless. Big Grin If Buzz sells you that hat, I want a cut.

We should all pitch in and get a proper hat for Larry and Buzz, and a replacement hat for Mike
this one, just an idea, there are lots of good inexpensive choices out there

Jeff - Just sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me bro!!! Just cause Larry is better at all of that stuff than you, me and most of the rest of the AR crowd is no reason to throw him under the bus. Besides, it takes "talent" to pull off a hat like that, it really does. Smiler

It may be pink but it's missing all the positive Ju-Ju. Even though I took Andrew a similar hat of his own he constantly tried to steal mine once he realized its true powers. Big Grin

I am going to see his buddy Pete in a two months for a hunt in Sapi, and I am sure Pete would not mind doing the hand off to Buzz for us
so lets get those donations rolling in
I can take paypal so PM me the amounts you would like to contribute. I think Buzz would rather have his own hat than a hand me down of Mikes. Lets see, 30K should do it and would be a good offset for my elephant hunt cost, I mean effort to get Buzz a proper hat

I hope like hell the hat you gave him doesn't say "Blaser" on it. If it does, and he were to actually wear it, that'd nip the hero worship stuff in the bud right on the spot!
