There is the skull of a 4 tusked elephant in the African museum in Brussels, but the two tusks on each side have welded together so it looks like a double-barrelled tusker.

This 3 tusked elephant was shot by Dr.D.R.Foster,from Texas,in Debesien, Uganda using a 375 Win.According to John Northcote, the PH,the two front tusks were true Loxodonta africana ivory, while the third tusk was undoubtedly Loxodonta cyclotis ivory.The three tusks weighed 114 pounds.The good Doctor was almost 80 when he took this unusual trophy.

The big boys at the pool hall tell me that Loxodonta cyclotis is less dense and has a slightly pink cast. The tusks are also smaller as is the animal. Maybe one of our professional hunters can elaborate more fully.

As a pool player the boy's at your pool hall are 100% correct. I know alot of cue makers as well and they all say the same thing. Walrus ivory is slightly gray in color and less dense too. The Ivory right next to the nerve channel that is bright white is the densest and best for ferrals(the part you glue the tip to).
