I plan on attending the convention this year and I have a few questions.

Now, I have never been to any DSC or SCI events so I do not know what to expect.

I have been to the DSC website and read their brief explanations of the various events. What I would like to hear from you guys is a general description of events over that weekend and, you know, just a discussion of what's up and things to do while there.

Thanks in advance,

Landrum.

During the day it's like one big gun show but with way more hunting outfits.

At night dinner and auction.

I kinda agree with JP but there is really a lot more to it than a gun show. I've gone for the past 4 or 5 years and always enjoy it. If you are even thinking about hunting Africa, DSC is a great place to start your research. If Africa doesn't float your boat there are outfitters from everywhere there who will be more than happy to sell you a hunt for anything you can think of anywhere on earth. I don't go to the "events" but from what I have heard they are worthwhile. Particularly the session about hunting Africa for the first time. Go and have a good time. Pick up all the free handouts and spend the next week dreaming of hunting with all of them.

There are lectures on hunting DG and other worldwide game. Last year Craig Boddington and Ivan Carter were two keynote speakers. Taxidermists, Gun Makers, Jewelers, Artists (I bought a great John Banovich last year, met Kobus Mueller), tons of displays, met a lot of the folks on here and made some new friends. We have our own AR functions, so hook up with some of the members and plan on having a great time.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Went for the first time last year with my hunting partner. We found a great outfitter for our first safari. We'll be back again this year despite some intense travel and other arrangements that I will require. It's great, as well as the night time parties with other AR members.

Last year was my first year, will be back again this year. Have thrown in a little bowhunting this year. I really enjoyed the show and meeting some of the AR folks on Sat. night, looking forward to this year.

Just look for all the AccurateReloading Logos on shirts and hats. We have fun in Dallas.

It will be good to see old friends and meet new people who will become old friends at the DSC.
