It's official- Big five have retained Chewore North. Chifuti are handling the marketing and management, and Andy Hunter & Gibbo are at SCI on the Big Five booths selling hunts as usual Smiler

Good news all round - except for Parks who are looking a little foolish!

I spoke to Gibbo and all hunts are ten day minimum and daily rates are way up. I'll have to sort it out when I get up there Friday.

Yes, N'Gagi and I have known for over a week now and we have already asked Gibbo to block out dates for us in August.

I was actually hoping that Big5 would not be able to confirm that they had the concession until after the SCI show. That way, they would have been a bit easier to negotiate with Big Grin.

Looking forward to another safari in Chewore North! dancing

I am really looking forward to my cat hunt in the Zambezi Valley in May! Wink

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Ten days minimum is a good thing as you are just settling into the rhythm on day ten IMO. Wink
PS; If the price is to high I might see how the price is for Northern Moz for the end of the season.

Seems to me that the whole exercise was a scripted endeavor to raise the daily rates. No way the first buyer could make money except to double or triple rates. Good for Ian and Andy! Talked to Ian in Dallas, but at that time he did not know the outcome, but felt the first buyer would reneg when the check bounced.

Good for all of us who like the Chewore! But the daily rates will tell us how many of us will line up for hunts.
