Gents:
After years of pissing and moaning between ourselves (and all justified) now we have the chance to band together and write the author of the fine article in the Wall Street Journal. A short email of thanks by hundreds, nay thousands, of us, may generate a journalist on our side in a paper that lives in the liberal seat of our country.

I wrote a short email and received a reply from Kevin. This may be the easiest and cheapest insurance we can get.

Could not agree more Cal. We sent an email to Kevin as well. I chose to thank him, outline biases that we often see in the media, mentioned the negative repercussions we receive from antis, and that managed hunting and wildlife conservation are one in the same. I hope others will drop him a quick email.

Sent him a fairly long thank you and encouraged him to write more articles.

Got a nice reply in which he recommended we share the article to as wide an audience as possible. It's now on Joyce's FB page.

This may be a VERY rare opportunity to get our word out to the media with an unbiased writer.

As he is published in the WST he must be a damn good writer, either be on their staff or free lance, and already has an "in." It mattes not if he is a hunter or just has an open mind. If enough of us write to him he may get motivation to write another piece and write of the good stuff: meat donations, details or the financial good we do, that no one today is a "trophy hunter" i.e. that only takes the trophy and leaves the rest behind, etc. This gent may be our first (hope not the only) way to get the word to the liberal media.

I mentioned inn note to he he was invited to AK anytime. Perhaps some of you in the Lower 48 could invite hime to your ranch or see if he could accompany you on an African hunt and write an unbiased piece of the activities we do that are under fire now.

It is great a dozen or two of us here wrote him. but the number should be in the hundreds. If we pass this opportunity by there may not be another to come along. Maybe this gent could write a series on hunting. The opportunities may be endless and it would boost his career as well as put us in a better light.

It's the WSJ - some kind of business angle was probably a requirement. Nevertheless, positive press in any form deserves support, not indignation.
