I can't be the only person who sometimes hangs on to brass from rounds used on a particular hunt. I had someone make this for me from a piece I brought back from my trip to Zimbabwe this past June -- a .458 Win Mag fountain pen with Mopane cap:

I will admit that the Lott has an advantage over the Win Mag in this arena, but despite being a fraction shorter than ideal I enjoy using it regularly. He made a Mopane rollerball pen for my Dad too.

It has me thinking -- I need to use the .416 Rem Mag next time and see how that works -- or maybe the .375 H&H. Cool

Very nice. That was good thinking. Will he build those for others or was that a personal favor?

He will make them on request. Most of the ones he does are smaller-caliber. No big surprise there.

Can you provide us with the contact information and the cost? Just remember not to take it with you in your carry on anywhere you fly or it most likely will be confiscated.

Yes, I had thought about that and do not plan to fly with it. I can PM you with contact info, etc.

I've picked up several pre-historic flint scrapers and gravers while hunting in Africa. Another cool find was a pottery shard I picked up while hunting with Charl Van Rooyen (Infinito Safaris). I've been picking up "arrowheads" since the age of six...no matter where I'm walking. LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Very nice and unique. I never would have thought of such.

Very nice Charles and a wonderful way to remember your time in the bush. I am going this year and would be interested a similar kind of rememberence. If possible and your source doesn't mind, could you PM me also with contact info? Mine would be a smaller cartridge.
