Just came out of Kruger Park today and a friend in management told me a group of people were walking on the rhino trail with a game ranger guiding, his first day, when they came across poachers. In the ensuing interaction, the game ranger shot the poacher with his .458 in the back. The helicopter and dogs were flown in and let loose and another of the three was captured. Rhino have been decimated and are hardly seen. In the Limpopo section in Mozambique the poachers are now killing lions by lacing carcasses with Furan and many other species like vultures are being killed at the same time.

Good. They should shoot them all. The spectre of prison doesn’t seem to slow poaching at all.

This crap will never stop until the end buyers are hung by the neck. Follow the money.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

David,

You are totally correct. The death of one poacher will not change anything. And I can't share in the mirth of those that rejoice in his death. He is a pawn in the poaching scheme. I feel for his family. Now kill the head of the snake and I'll rejoice.

Yes, blame the Chinese, but also blame a bad US policy and UK policy on hunting, importation and over regulation....

Steyr and Vinny,

I think we all know who is behind it, but wouldn't want to be accused of being racist or anything.
