Went by Russ Broom Safaris booth in Reno only to find Col. Bill Williamson handing out info. It appears Russ is out of Zim and plans to hunt Angola next year. Rory Muil is staying with the concession and hunting with the new owner. Col Bill says Russ kept the booth so he can market hunts next year in Angola. Does anybody have any more info?

Like you, I stopped to say hello to Bill, and like you, that is the extent of my information. Since I expect Bill will continue to book for Russ, I suggest staying in contact with him for updates, And if you get any, please post them here on AR.

I talked to Roger Whittall last week about Angola. I can tell you if I wasn't booked for Zim this year, I would be headed to Angola. Yes, there will be some kinks but worth the adventure. Roger is very candid about what he is doing and what to expect. Could be the biggest thing to happen since Moz opened.

Bill Williamson is a real gentleman; if anyone has his email, perhaps you could send me a PM or post it.

I thought AR was a blue print for some novel, to be published in the future.....some of the posts discussed would create unimaginable adventures !!

Seriously, there was no 100% plan at all. He mentioned having flown over an area, to get an idea, nothing more. I did however express my desire to get involved, IF he should get involved himself.

I would love the chance to take a look; I believe that apart from the Giant Sable, there must be some awesome trophies, and I know the Kwanza river has some incredible Tarpon fishing. Saw a recent pic of a 200lb'er. ! What a way to end a safari !!

Well, Roger Whittall does have a definite plan in Angola. As sevenmag said, Roger is very open about what he has going on there and obviously it's early days right now. But he is very excited about the area which is a vast wilderness. He has told me a little about it but I'll get more details and let you know when I do.

Cheers, Dave

Just got a e-mail from Rory Muil today. Just says Russ sold Binga and he is staying with the new owners. They will hunt binga and also have Charara. Thats all for now. I to talked to Roger about Angola. Might be a good place for a hunt that you dont really need to send trophys home. He did say he saw lots of elephant.
