It would seem that the Government is starting with the private and unfenced game ranchers.

The increase in poaching. The Wildlife department is broke, likewise the Communities have no income.

Mark,

Does that mean the tender process for the GMA's is resolved also?

Not to turn this thread into a typical SCI pissing contest but I would suspect if SCI could claim any influence in this case it would already be sitting in my email inbox just like the notice of the money they raised to "save the Lion" while not doing the one thing they needed to do with USF&W to actually prevent an uplisting.

I am happy to hear this news. It is good to see that the Zambian authorities understand: One must never throw out the baby with the bath water.

OK! Spoke to John DuPlooy today. Fenced, unfenced game farms and GMA's that did not come up for Tender in '12 are open for hunting. The Tender for the majority of Zambian GMA's is NOT resolved.

You know, Africa is a minute by minute, day by day place, and nothing can truly be counted on. Like Saeed said years ago, go while you can and places are open for hunting. Big Grin

However quite substantial anti hunting activity here and that arse hole from Lionaid is sticking his nose in where it don't belong.

I find it mind boggling that some no name who has never been to Zambia nor is qualified can try and dictate big cat policy in Africa.

Last month we lost one Lioness to poisoning and by the time I got there with my camera the carcass had been taken!

Them bones will be the end of the Lion.
