The part he 500grains forgot to mention is that I am actually an Alien Invader bent of world domination through the spread of computer virus on Accurate Reloading. My goal is to create armies of 45-70 carrying zombies that will wipe out the cape buffalo population.
500grains defeated my devious plot and I was destroyed in the ensuing conflict. However my brethren from the planet "retardo" managed to salvage my DNA and created an ALL NEW IMPROVED Carmelo complete with website and whats more... "lo and behold" a .404 Jeffery Rifle!
My latest plot is to convert all Rear Express sights to the folding leaf type! This will ensure my control over man kind!!!!

Jeez.... some people need to get back on there MEDS.

Just a little humour folks thats all.

I agree with what was originally voiced by Erik:

I would NOT have that rear sight so far back, nor would I EVER have a folding rear sight on a DGR. 'Murphy', for want of a better term, works overtime on African safaris......

Allen,

I don't think anyone is advocating that you use a folding leaf or that you should mount it back.
I think if you re-read the original post I said it was my own personal preference.

It's interesting that its the same 2 or 3 guys that keep on and on with this crap. Hmmm must be a conspiracy....
Becareful guys, our armies are also equipped with double rifle plasma ray guns on planet Retardo too hahahahaha
Thank you though... becuase in between the BS you are at least giving us all some mild amusement.

It's amazing the types of dialogue that posting a couple of simple pictures of your new rifle can spark.

Allen I think we've all gathered that you are of that opinion.
Can we move on now?

Actually I think that further discussion of this point is proper because it can prevent others from making the same mistakes. I am glad when others learn from my mistakes, and I hope I can learn from theirs.

I wonder how long the front swivel remains on the forend. Nothing personal, but that rifle is FUBAR - scope, scope mounts, rear sight, barrel, front swivel just to name a few. I hope it shoots better than it looks...

I have only one opinion and suggestion for you and your rifle. Pack it up and take it back over to your own forum where you can act foolish, delete your own strands and marvel at your intellect as you fly back off to where ever the heck you came from.

PS. Please take all your troll alias warriers with you !

Here is the Biesen solution to the rear sight and scope mount dilemma for a fellow who likes to have the rear sight a bit closer to the reciever than normal:

You keep repeating this statement, it would appear so as to deflect attention from what most posters here see as the real problem: Your somewhat unusual behaviour and attitude.

However, since you keep bringing the rifle up, the posters who have criticized certain features on it have done so for a valid reason: So that others (who might not know better) don't follow your lead and make the same mistakes. And the things that have been brought up are undoubtably veiwed by the majority as mistakes on a DGR. Not a PG rifle mind you, since that is obviously a differant case. My wife has a 30-06 with a folding rear sight simular to yours, and that's OK on her rifle. But then her rifle isn't a 404 designed to be used against animals that are considered dangerous.

If I were you, I would rather appreciate the constructive criticism given by various posters, and use their experiances for your own benefit instead of attacking them. But instead you have lashed out, and ridiculed them (even insinuating that they are gay, which they most definatly are not, and if they are, who cares?). Thus, what else can you expect when they lash back in self defence?

But then that might be your intentions. To create havoc and discord, so that people leave AR? So that they go over to your website instead? shame thumbdown

Btw, In most of the world, people who excessively attack others by accusing them of being faggots etc. are often "closet faggots" themselves. And this is a very international forum with participants from all over the world. So if that isn't the case with you, I'd drop that particular method of attack...

Erik please spare us.

I have no issue with anyones comments on my sight choice. However I don't see much constructive criticism in Posts about me being a wanker, a jerk, a troll, a whatever... lets all go back and revisit this thread????

I never said anyone was either right or wrong in their opinion of my sight choice. The most I said on the matter is that It is my preference and can we move on. I have not used the term faggot my friend, You are the first to have done so. I simply said that the 3 or 4 guys who keep up with these incessant negative posts have a strange infatuation with me. They post here and on other forums with the same crap.

The question for everyone to ask is WHY DO YOU 3 or 4 guys even care about me? Or care what I shoot? Or care what I say???????

WHY?
Why don't you just leave me alone?

Carmelo,

You may well not have used the specific word "faggot", but many of your posts have insinuated that exact thing. Denying this is just silly. Roll Eyes

Erik go back and read the thread. Follow the pattern. See where the negativity starts. Where the attacks start and by whom.
As you may see, it must have been your constructive use of the term "wanker" that was meant to inspire me to see the merit in your post I guess. Then your buddies jumped on the bandwagon. I tried to make a few jokes to lighten up the thread after that but to no avail. Several of you are bent on attacking me and there is no way around that.

In the meantime leave me alone sir. I've done nothing wrong to you and there is no point in continuing.

IT'S JUST A COUPLE OF PIC'S OF A RIFLE!
IT'S JUST REAR SIGHT!!
WHY DO THESE SAME 3-4 GUYS KEEP ON WITH THE CRAP?

This is a nicely presented rear sight setup using one fixed blade and some fold down leaves. The scope mounts do not interfere with the loading port.

Mickey,
thanks, the fold down leaf actually has a set screw that locks it into place.

I think that was the final line in any rational discussion of which 500grains was a part. After all the offensive bullshit, I kind of got a chuckle out of that.

500grains is a well-known asshole on AR, but it doesn't mean we want to keep on seeing it. Why don't you go mouth off to a cop someplace, and get your teeth rearranged for free?

500grains is a well-known asshole on AR, but I hadn't been aware of ErikD's being that sort. Does either of you have anything to do besides showing your ass?

500grains, why don't you go mouth off to a cop someplace, and get your teeth rearranged for free? ErikD can go watch, and report back to us.

P.S. ErikD, you're a faggot.

I am sure Carmelo will appreciate a friend on his own level.

And are you asserting that the set screw locks the fold down sight in the upright position? Or did you misunderstand the posts?

it's not worth it to even waste your time with that guy and his clique. At this point they don't even care who they argue with as long as they have someone to harass.. they are happy.
