It’s been a busy season. Just for everyone not to forget me, here’s a photo from a recent safari I did in the Chikwa concession. Not many places can match the quality and quantity of the big game in this concession.

Wow Thor!

I believe the incredible hunt Tim Herald recently posted was in Chikwa as well.

Big congrats!

What did the ivory weigh?

Already I was beginning to fall into the African way of thinking: That if
you properly respect what you are after, and shoot it cleanly and on
the animal's terrain, if you imprison in your mind all the wonder of the
day from sky to smell to breeze to flowers—then you have not merely
killed an animal. You have lent immortality to a beast you have killed
because you loved him and wanted him forever so that you could always
recapture the day - Robert Ruark

We expecting ivory to be mid 60’s. Not officially weighed yet. Is 17,5 circumference at lip and 16 circumference 12 inches from lip. 44 inches sticking out.

Thanks Carl.

Yes was a good show. Baboon meat was actually fine. But had a slight bitter aftertaste.

All buffalo were between 40 and 47. One taken with bow.

Very impressive and a great photo. Looks like a very old eland in the back. I'm into old stuff, even my wife is older than me. Congrats.

The length of the nerve also plays a major role in the overall weight.

My conservative guesstimate is 60lbs (+/- 2lbs)

The full skin croc went 14,2 and the skull one would have been mid 13 but has 2 feet of its tail chopped off.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
