I saw an old movie a while back, "The Lion" starring William Holden & Trevor Howard. In one scene old Kenya hand Howard was hazing city boy Holden by driving his jeep close to hippo & elephant causing charges. One elephant w/ HUGE tusks - actually crossed in an X, almost got them. Was this a "named" elephant, like Ahmed? Anyone know any details? A nation with dogs and whiskey beats Nazis. A nation with cats and spritzers is asking to be shoved around. | ||

Don't know the Ele but Holden went on to become quite involved with Africa, as did the Duke and a number of hollywood types. My understanding was, they did a lot of hunting and whooping it up over there. Later, when Holden hooked up with Stephanie Powers, she tamed the hunter and made a conservationist out of him. I don't know the facts, just rumor from some of my Cali friends. I'll have to look for that movie. Holden and a few other Hollywood folks founded and built the Mt. Kenya Safari Club, if I am not mistaken. it was originally a private hunting club for members on safari in Kenya before it became a public hotel. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… | |||
