Interesting. Anti hunter and anti lion.

I particularly liked the statement that guns were deemed unnecessary while mingling with a pride of 30 to 50 lions in an open sided jeep. Darwin must have been asleep during their filming.

I wonder why they were so keen to sanitize the footage? Bad press for the "Lion King" maybe?

Typical media - Rather than present things as they are, the producers will be "judicious" in their editing thereby presenting the "facts" as they wish others to see them. Amazing - can't even get to the truth watching nature films.

And we all wonder why people are growing up with a distorted view of the natural world.

This has been my point all along - nature IS infinitley more "cruel" to its own kind than we as hunters can ever be yet those opposed to hunting and culling dont comprehend this. People sit back in their armchairs eating Sunday dinner watching lions killing buffalo and "justify" by saying "thats nature." No feeling for the buffalo........... yet these same people cry fowl when a hunter shoots an animal in what is a much more humane death for the animal.

I dont shoot a pregnant wildebeest cow whilst she is giving birth - wild dogs eats her half alive under the same circumstances though. I dont catch young impala and give them to my children to teach them how to hunt - cheetahs do. I dont beat up my competitors so badly then leave them with broken jaws, bones, guts hanging out to be ripped to pieces by their other enemies - lions do this to lions and hyenas do the dirty therafter. Elephants are becoming so destructive they are killing the worlds where other animals exist - we pity them because we humanise them and choose not to cull them - we leave old elephants that can no longer eat to the fate of starvation because hunting them is "cruel."

Back to the lions though, well done to them for utilizing such an awesome food source and for doing some of our culling for us.............

You have to admire the courage and outright aggression of the lions. It's an amazing thing.

Somewhere, one of the video storage sites, had night pictures of lions attacking a good sized female. They got her down to her knees, but, she stood up, and, as those of use who've been on the back of an ele can tell you, getting through elephant hide IS armour plating, and, most lions, on a full grown ele, have NO chance.

My fav. bit :"It seems irreverent watching a noble beast being killed. Elephants are such honourable animals,†says Keeling grimly. “It’s just unbelievable. The lions are trying to kill every night, even though their bellies are full. They are just machines.†So, what caliber for Robo lion? Big Grin
