See you and the beautiful lady at DSC!

From one who's been there like you:

The three greatest thrills in life are a good dump, an good orgasim and a good night catapult shot... Funny thing is that you get all three at the same time on a CVA.

Right, my friend?

I'm hunting at my club Monday-Wednesday after DSC. You want to go?

Congradulations commander! You have not only served your country with honor, but you have trained and influenced countless young soldiers who have followed your great example. One of them my nephew who had training in Pensecola and after two deployments flying in Iraq, and who is Navy to the bone, thanks for helping him have the skills necessary to protect this country,, but more importantly to protect himself and be able to return to his family. You have touched the lives of many of us here on AR, some directly and some indirectly such as me. Thanks for your service and Godspeed on the rest of the your next great adventure. drwes

If it makes you feel any better...

My father retired several years ago, after working for the same company for many years. He to had to make an adjustment period.

Took him several months to not feel like being in that routine....

My mother....she hasn't adjusted yet to my dad being home!

Congratz Jorge and may you enjoy civilian life as much or more than you did in service to our country! I wish you all the best and many successful African safaris!

Judge: You bet! I get back from Dallas Monday night. I'll see you there! To all, I am really flattered and overwhelmed by all the kind words. My wife and I are committed to all the DSC dinners and auctions, but we'll be in the convention floor Thursday through Sunday. Forrest and others whose cell phone I have, I'll be in touch. For sure I'll be hovering around John Sharp's booth. Thanks again to all. You've made me feel a hell of a lot more important than I really am! jorge

Now you are an official member of the Old Farts Club. Congratulations on being re-tired (tired once, and tired again).

Live and enjoy your coming years to the fullest. Ever since I retired I've been busy travelling and hunting. When people ask what I do for a living I tell them I'm unemployed. Yessirree, I ain't got a job and I love it.

Jorge & JudgeG - I would agree completely with you wonderful "fast mover" guys about the "thrills" and your service to our country. But,I would also include that equal thrills come from the eyes of an eagle (at 80 feet), the radar of a bat(at 120 knots)and the balls of a charlie model gun driver.

Jorge, I will try to find you & your bride at John Sharp's booth or see you at one of the AR events.

Again, all the best on your retirement,

jorge, I seldom post here, but felt I would add my well done,, My father as well was a Naval Aviator, who's service covered the end of WW-2/Korea/ RVN, he flew any thing with props as he said, and loved the ocean and carriers, I remember standing on the pier and watched as he boarded the Kitty Hawk as part of the comminishing crew, and was never prouder than when he retired in 74, and saw his mentors and peers stand by while he was piped over.

Thank you for your service, and dedication, enjoy!!!!!!!

When you come to South Africa again, plan to come hunt a springbuck on the house here with me.

In good hunting.

Jorge,

Congratulations on your retirement and welcome to the “Check-a-Month” Club.

I retired in ’95 after 22+. There are some things, mostly the camaraderie and people, I miss and a lot I don’t.

From one retired GI to another, thanks for your service and sacrifices. There is a bond that transcends the individual services, that if you have not been there you can’t fully understand.

Enjoy your retirement and spend most of it outdoors pursuing game and fish, you earned it.

Wow, I can't believe this thread is still going. Thank you all again and a special thanks to those of you who came up to me and thanked me at the DSC in person. I even got a GREAT retirement gift from Forrest, a GREAT box of ceegars and some top-notch single malt. As some of you know, my wife and I are invited every year by some great folks from DSC and this year the gave me a LIFE MEMBERSHIP to DSC. But real pleasure to me comes from the small things in life such as all the kind words proffered here. Once again I am humbled. jorge
