Thanks;

Sorry that this jumped so ugly. But you came out ultimately smelling like a rose.

Your comrades rushed to your defense and clearly defended you.

Personally shot 54 lion and my dad over 500 - and my clients 57 more on our Place. Blue is actually quite good cammo from the viewpoint of most bush creatures.

A proper cammo suit wahsed with modern detergent stands out a mile to any game animal- which is why we use only plain green soap to wash cloths.

Any dusty to dark colour works well - but never black- just use the right soap. Same applies to Buffalo, eland Zebra...

Odly enough it was my game scouts that made me aware of this. On Anti Poaching ops we had a shoot on sight policy which the poachers recipricated. My men prefered blue workshop overalls to the army cammo I had scrounged. They could see a man in camo in thick bush long Before I could, even with Bino's, but would miss a man in blue that I could see.

I hope you are right, but I believe he is a far more pitiful person. His pathetic cries for attention actually make me feel sorry for him.

Exactly!

Have you all noticed what he claimed had done?

Was there anything he wasn't such an expert at??

To the extent that he lies that he got me to join the NRA??

Anyway, he got banned from here before, and he is no longer here now.

I cannot imagine anyone missing him though.

I hate to say it but I feel sorry for the guy. I think he is old and losing his mind.

I had a grand father whose personality totally changed in his last year or two before he died. The things that came out of his mouth would have never been uttered before he started downhill. It was a medical problem.

I am glad he is gone but I still wonder.

Larry,
I think you may be right. I have seen the same phenomena twice with aging relatives and it is sad. Thankfully if this is the case then we are spared from any more and only his family will have to deal with it now. A burden I wish on no one.

Exactly why I didn't take it personally at all, although I rarely do anyway.

Honestly, I think the dude is in his 80's - and is losing it. Sad really, as I am sure at one time he could have be a productive contributor - but like old hunting guides, his day has past.

And others.

Spot on.

He is over the hill alright but certainly not losing it at all. He's just bored and playing innocent games for amusement. It's totally in innocuous and good sport.

Saeed did ban him but it should be reversed. I'll promise to keep him in check and out of trouble.

Saeed is really a good guy with a great sense of humor.

If he - or anybody else - had something to contribute and share, I would be among the first to welcome them.

It would be GREAT to read the musings of people who have insight and opinions based on experiences from a bygone era. Where are these people? Why don't they contirbute?

After a few posts, this sort of thread gets old...and I don't see the point.

I would say, most of as are here on AR to learn from each other, here and there give each other a bit of shit and overall enjoy the conversations and contributions...

Figured I'd resurrect this train wreck to tell a little story about Aaron Neilson and what a horrible guy he really is.

In 2014 Aaron guided Joyce on a Pronghorn hunt in Colorado free of charge when she won a Facebook contest he sponsored. I was unable to draw yet Aaron did his best to find me a landowner tag so I too could hunt. He would have done this free of charge as well but no tag was available.

We all had a great time and the successful hunt with Joyce was filmed.

A couple of weeks after the hunt Aaron contacted Joyce and requested we both put in for the Pronghorn draw again for this year. He wanted to again guide Joyce. So we both again put in for tags.

I totally screwed up last month and mis-read the Colorado website draw results. I had thought Joyce drew again and I did not. Unfortunately neither of us drew.

We talked with Aaron this morning and he took it in stride and will attempt to find Joyce a landowner tag for this year.

We had planned on being in the lower 48 with our truck camper either way so it doesn't affect our travel plans at all.

Anyway, imagine having a busy hunting schedule as well as guiding schedule and filming schedule and have somebody like me throw a wrench in all that with faulty draw data. I know I would be pissed.

Aaron simply took it in stride, reiterated how much he was looking forward to hunting with Joyce and if he can't find her a landowner tag for this October he wants her to give it another try for 2016.

Awesome gesture Mr. Neilson ------- really! Wink

Cheers
Jim
