There was a guy about 20 years ago in Zambia that loved to talk about himself. He had done a lot of hunting but was kind of a rub it in your face guy. I got along fairly well with him because I asked a lot of questions about hunts he'd done that I hadn't and he loved telling everybody about his experiences and SCI entries. I did feel bad for his partner though. The guy was on his first safari and of course he wanted to do well in front of his very experienced friend. Well! He wounded, lost, shot the wrong animal and flat out missed. He got so upset with himself that it brought the whole camp down and his SCI Diamond Award friend was no help. We had brought along a friend who was a single attractive women and recently divorced. We brought her along to kind of get her mind off the divorce. The SCI guy was a very successful dentist. Something came up about some dental work our friend had done. SCI guy told our friend he wouldn't mind looking at the work she'd had done!!!!!! We got a laugh out of that. Mark MARK H. Good advice, Andrew. However, the AR group hunt you arranged with Thor was great. Very enjoyable. On my very first safari with Rosslyn Safaris, I met an American gentleman there with his wife. We shared the same camp. He was an old man who had some serious liver illness. He could not walk very far at all. Sadly, he died in camp.

Well, I think that would be better than some sterile hospital or worse yet, nursing home. Karl Evans

Karl, Agree totally. I've told my wife if I were to die in Africa not to go through the trouble or expense of bringing my carcass home. Should that happen, I was where I wanted to be.

I was one who donated. His name should live in infamy. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.
