Bill,

Our forums are very active, and any article we post is going to disappear very quickly down the page.

So, we decided to have a READ ONLY forum for you mere mortals, rotflmo and Nikudu can post whatever he wishes on it.

Any discussion regarding these articles can still be posted on this forum.

Thanks for this new forum !

Nick, is there a good chance that you could repost the many old articles you've posted in the past? I had simply linked to them but now the links don't work Smiler.

Ann,

Walter calls it "his little paradise" in the desert!

We were going to have a BBQ last Friday, and he decided we should postpone it, as he was busy!!?

So we are having it day after tomorrow, so we can please his lordship!

Same question I had. Do you know what species of grass or reed that you used for the rondavel/banda?

Thanks.

The grass was brought in from South Africa. The wooden frame was made in Australia and the thatcher came from England.

Glad to hear about the articles! Any chance that some of the old Zimbabwe Hunter articles will end up online?

Actually there IS a company in Perth run or established by ex-pat South Africans that builds thatched 'cabanas' or rondavels.

Wouldn't rank the chances of getting any African grasses (ie through quarantine) into Aust very high however.
